Yarn Bases

Kelp was inspired by the tidepools of Half Moon Bay's beautiful coastline and its magical creatures who live nearby.  It is a complex color with tones of gold, olive, brown-black, and even hints of red.  It looks like kelp floating in the water, changeable depending on the light.

Images shown on BFL sock and Glitter bases.  Due to the nature of hand-dyed yarn, each skein will have variation, as well as each yarn base will take the dye differently. The Pure Merino bases will be less variegated and more muted and tonal in nature.

Care

Hand wash in cool water, lay flat to dry. Superwash yarns should not felt if washed in the washing machine, but hand-washing will prolong the life of your finished objects.

Tips & Recommendations

  • For large projects, alternate skeins to avoid pooling.
  • Highly saturated colors may bleed slightly when blocked or washed. For high-contrast color combinations in colorwork projects, block your swatch to test for color bleeding.
