Clapotis Shawl Plum and Gold Mini Kit
Clapotis Shawl Plum and Gold Mini Kit
The Clapotis Shawl is a fun pattern by Kate Gilbert, published in Knitty Magazine 20 years ago - and has over 24,000 projects on Ravelry. When Knitty called out for Indie Dyers to participate in Clapotis-fest, we jumped at the opportunity. I enlisted my beautiful and talented niece, Ella, and we came up with this gorgeous mini-kit - and Ella knit-up the shawl in just a few weeks over the summer.
This kit contains 11 minis - each weighing 20grams - for a total of 220g of yarn per kit. We used just 4 skeins of each gradient, but the pattern is so flexible, you could also add the extra color into the fade. There are 5 skeins in a Plum color running from a pale pink to a deep rich burgundy plum color. 5 skeins in Gold, from pale yellow to a saturated caramel gold. 1 mini has light speckles of plum and gold to tie everything together. Yarn base is Glitter Fingering, a fingering weight 2-ply yarn with gold stellina to give it extra sparkle! Each mini is 20grams, 87 yards/80m. Total kit 220grams, 957 yards/875m. 75% superwash merino, 20% nylon, 5% gold stellina.
