Collection: Corrie Woolen

Corrie Woolen is a beautiful rustic 100% non-superwash Corriedale wool in a woolen-spun construction.   South American Corriedale wool is known for its long, strong staple-length and beautiful crimp.  The wool is 25 micron and has a lovely rustic hand with a slight matte finish.  The woolen-spun construction means the wool is lofty, and the air trapped in the yarn will ensure a lightweight but warm fabric.  This yarn is non-superwash, and is left untreated, so it retains all its natural characteristics.  This yarn is wonderful for sweaters with color work or cables - perfect for any garment that you want to keep its shape and not drape too much.

The colors in this collection are tonal in nature, but will have variation from skein to skein.  Alternating skeins is high recommended, even if the yarn is all from the same dye-lot.  Any sweater quantity orders (ie 3 skeins and up) will always be from the same dye-lot.

The yardage for 100g skein is 328yds (300m), but due to its lofty nature knits up closer to a DK or even a worsted weight.  The fabric will bloom beautifully after blocking.  Recommended gauge is 18sts x 28 rows in 4" on a US 6-8 (4-5mm) needle, although it can be knit up with a variety of needle sizes depending on the desired final fabric.
